Intro To My Substack Page
Welcome to my Substack page. I hope I can use this platform to promote my writings, talk about recovery, share perspective, and provide hope.
Over the last several years I have dabbled in writing about substance use and recovery and have even been fortunate enough to have a few people follow my work. So, if you are someone who has read some of my stories over the years, just know that not much is going to change as far as content. This is simply a different setting to publish my writings.
If you haven’t ever came across my blogs, allow me to briefly introduce myself. I am a 31-year-old from Mason, Michigan, have an 11-year-old daughter, and am a big Detroit sports fan. I am also a person in recovery from heroin use and am coming up on three years of sobriety. It has been a long road with many ups and downs. There have been several attempts at sobriety, a dozen rehabs, and many jail stints.
I now work in the field of recovery as the intake coordinator for Pinnacle Recovery Services, a sober living program in Lansing. It doesn’t even feel like employment sometimes, as I am truly passionate about it.
Combining my love for writing and my passion for recovery, my goal in this is to promote personal sobriety pieces, highlight addiction and overdose trends in Michigan, and provide resources. Above all, if I am not relaying anything else, I want this to let people know that there is HOPE for recovery. There is another side to addiction, and it is a beautiful life.
I hope you will consider subscribing to my newsletter and engaging with me on this journey. I am not seeking to spam emails or annoy you with endless posts. I just want to talk about recovery in the great state of Michigan.
